2020 Memorial Climate Quilt
This 8’ x 10’ blanket is made up of 366 panels that represent the daily high and low temperatures in Pittsburgh for each day in 2020, the year that the global pandemic started. It took over 800 hours of planning, crocheting, steaming, and sewing to complete. This project was began as a simple visual representation of climate change, but later transitioned into a day-to-day reflection on my health and survival during a very uncertain time. In the end, the blanket became a symbol of my own resilience as both a designer and a person.
