The Lunar Pavilion
Completed for the Epic Metals Competition.
The Lunar Pavilion can be fully disassembled to enhance user experience and incorporate the children into the construction process as much as possible. The Lunar Pavilion is a safe, engaging shelter designed for celestial observation. The communal area on the ground floor allows for congregation and discussion, as well as the oudoor deck on the second. The flow between the three sleeping planes allows for a semi-private setting, and the rolling roof panels allow for unique and special experiences per sleeping plane. The infiltration of light through a perforated metal screen follows the path of circulation. As you move up within the shelter, the amount of light tapers off to mimic the effect caused by the celestial observation.
