The Stack
This 12-storey museum annex has a direct spatial and material relationship with the Judd Foundation across the street. Its exterior deconstructs Judd’s colorful untitled metal stacks, while its interior sequence recalls the collection and evolution of Judd’s chronology of work. The sequence of this building was inspired by Donald Judd’s unique haptic method of curating his collections. The building is divided into 4 distinct vertically stacked “compartments” that each represent a different part of Judd’s life and the process of preserving his legacy.
